Electrolysis Etching With Salt and Water
INTAGLIO
Replace powdered rosin aquatint with the new revolutionary Velvetint (no powder, no asphaltum, no sprays). It is so easy to use that beginning students or professional printers can get beautiful aquatints, which can be controlled from very fine to coarse and are simple to produce on copper, zinc, steel and aluminum. For photo-etching, simply brush-coat copper, zinc, steel or aluminum with the new high-resolution photo coating made with biodegradable solvents. It is self-leveling and produces a beautiful, even coat of emulsion. |
Mark Zunino, Cup and Tomato, 2011. Two-plate etching using the new materials featured in Printmaking Revolution. Expose a digital film or image to the plate, develop it in a water-based developer and proceed to etch the plate. The new coating also works as a hard ground. |
Mary Teichman, Midnight Oil, 2011. Printing the black plate of a four-color separation etching on copper, created by painting stop-out to selected parts of each plate so they produce a full range of colors when printed together. Made using Velvetint. Dwight Pogue, Night Cereus, 2011. Printing the black plate of a four-color separation etching on copper. Four copper plates were brush-coated with the new photo coating and exposed to CMYK films made with an inkjet printer. Magenta, yellow, cyan and black ink were printed to achieve full color. |
